December Flamenco Evening will be the icing on the cake of this year's cycle. Carmen Fernández - an excellent flamenco singer who will present the repertoire of her latest album - will come to Wroclaw on a special invitation. She will be accompanied by: Rainer Maria Nero (guitar) and Borja Soto (compas, backing vocals).

Be sure to visit Vertigo on the second Sunday of December!

Carmen Fernandez was born in Utrera (Province of Seville) in 1968 and comes from a prominent family of Flamenco traditions, which also includes the legendary singer Juan Talega. As the youngest daughter in a gypsy family, she grew up in the spirit of Flamenco. Her mother is a singer and her father is a dancer. No wonder then that Carmen devoted herself completely to Arte Flamenco.

First as a dancer and later a singer, she becomes a faithful interpreter of ancient flamenco traditions, and yet always gives the performances a personal character. She is a flamenco singer with solid foundations and flamenco knowledge. With her strong, catchy voice, she won the hearts of the audience at countless Flamencopeñas in Spain and at many festivals in Germany and the Benelux. She collaborated with Concha Vargas, Joaquin Ruiz, Carmen ledesma and Andres Marin among others.

Her first album is from 2003 and the second album 'Naturá' appeared on the market in 2005. Her latest album 'De Corazón' was released in 2015.

As a singer and dancer, she performed on many large stages in Spain, France, Austria, Italy, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Russia, Denmark, the Baltic States, the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada and Japan.

Borja Soto, currently the only Spanish flamenco singer living in Poland, from Seville. He has been performing in Poland since 2013 in various formations during such events as: Unfinished House / European Songs as part of the cycle European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016, Jazz in Palaces - Moszna Castle, Duende Festival in Poznań, Polish Dance Platform, Folk Inspirations Łódź, Ethno Jazz Festival Wrocław, European Capital of Culture – inauguration 2016, Music Festival in Bukowiec, International Folklore Festival in Zielona Góra, BRAVE Together. Leader of the Los Duendes band. Initiator and artistic director of the Flamenco Evenings series.

Rainer Maria Nero is a guitarist, composer and lecturer from Vienna. In 2008-2011 he studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna under the direction of the outstanding Alexander Swete. In 2014-2016 he studied in Murcia (Spain) under the guidance of flamenco guitarist Carlos Piñana, with whom he has played concerts all over the world since then. In 2015, the artist released his debut album Castles of Spain, maintained in a classic style. Two years later, together with the band Flamensky he founded, he created a flamenco album Fantasias y Danzas, which contains only his own compositions. This October, his next author's album - Conmover - was released.
