Carmen performed by Barcelona Flamenco Ballet will end the City of Dwarfs Festival
The finale of the City of Dwarfs Flamenco Festival is a real feast for music lovers and dance fans! Barcelona Flamenco Ballet will perform for the first time on the NFM stage with the performance of "Carmen", inspired by the opera by G. Bizet. Lovers of flamenco, opera, dance, music, theatre and performing arts in general will rediscover the famous Carmen, where the mixture of cultures and styles gives freshness and modernity to the legendary story. Despite the passage of time, Carmen still conveys its message of freedom and courage in the face of the injustice of the world. Carmen is pain, passion and a cry for freedom, feelings that flamenco art masterfully presents in its most original aspect. The story of Prospero Mérimée comes to life in an original production with excerpts and arrangements of Georges Bizet’s famous opera Carmen, flamenco singing, elements of jazz and original music by guitarist and composer Ivan Perez. The choreography combines the worlds of flamenco ballet with impressive footwork and fresh influences from contemporary dance. This performance incorporates never-before-seen flamenco elements, adapting them to a contemporary setting, creating a new paradigm of the Carmen myth and the art of flamenco for the 21st century.

The CITY OF DWARFS Flamenco Festival is an initiative of the cultural association Fandango Polska in close cooperation with the artistic agency KA – International Art Management. The idea of the Festival is to bring the culture and art of flamenco in its various varieties closer to a wide audience. During the second edition of the Festival, dance will dominate and will play a significant role in all the festival events. The organizers will also present flamenco as an art of breaking barriers and combining - disciplines, styles, nationalities, cultures...
