The April Flamenco Evening is an opportunity for a spring meeting with musicians from three countries. Polish dancer Magdalena Siwecka, Spanish vocalist Borja Soto and Greek guitarist Nikos Tsiachris will perform in Witrażowa Hall. What will emerge from the combination of three different cultures and the art of flamenco? See for yourself on the penultimate Sunday of April in “Wrocław - the meeting place”.

 

Magdalena Siwecka started her dancing career as a child with classical, modern and folk dance. A graduate of the Olsztyn Dance Theater and the Contra Modern Dance Group (Polish Championship in modern dance). A student of outstanding dancers and choreographers - Piotr Galiński and Jacek Łumiński. She studied in Poland and Spain with such outstanding dancers and teachers as Choni Pérez García, Isabel Bayón, Adella Campallo, Yasaray Rodriguez and Manuel Betanzos. Founder, soloist and choreographer of Café Cortao Compañía Flamenca - a Polish flamenco dancing group. Initiator and main dancer of the Polish project with the participation of musicians from abroad, Proyecto Flamenco. Corazón y alma. She has performed i.a. at the Teatr Wielki invited by Sinfonia Varsovia during the Festival Crazy Days of Music 2013 – French and Spanish music. Passionate about popularizing flamenco among all age groups, she also works with people with disabilities.

 

Borja Soto is currently the only Spanish flamenco singer living in Poland, originally from Seville. He has been performing in Poland since 2013 in various formations during such events as: Unfinished House / European Songs as part of the European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016 cycle, Jazz in Palaces - Moszna Castle, Duende Festival in Poznań, Polish Dance Platform, Folk Inspirations Łódź, Ethno Jazz Festival Wrocław, European Capital of Culture - inauguration 2016, Festival of Music in Bukowiec, International Folklore Festival in Zielona Góra, BRAVE Together, Festival Window to the World in Gdańsk. Scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Artistic director of the Flamenco Evenings concert series. Founder of the band Los Duendes, in which he writes lyrics and songs.




Nikos Tsiachris
is a Greek guitarist and composer living in Berlin. He studied flamenco first in Thessaloniki and then in Andalusia (Granada, Seville and Jerez). Immediately after settling in Berlin, Nikos founded "Rasgueo", one of the most famous flamenco-jazz bands in Germany and released two albums ("Waterfall", "Echo") with original compositions. The third album is due out in 2023. Following the trend of contemporary flamenco, he released two albums with his own compositions ("Alcance" and "Primavera en Berlin") and established cooperation with Bandolero, one of the most famous flamenco drummers. He plans to release another flamenco album in collaboration with famous flamenco musicians from Madrid.
