Concert promoting the latest album titled Sambalanço by Krzysztof Pełech & Robert Horna duo in Wrocław’s Club PROZA in March!
A combination of original samba, bossa nova, tango and improvised smooth jazz arrangements and a wealth of beautiful melodies, harmonies and rhythms - this is what has become Krzysztof Pełech & Robert Horna Duo’s trademark. Their latest album titled Sambalanço, to be released at the end of April/beginning of May 2017, captures the same stylistic fusion and ambience and includes compositions by, among others: Pat Metheny, Ralph Towner, Astor Piazzolla, as well as original arrangements of music by Celso Machado and Aziza Mustafa Zadeh. You will have the opportunity to listen to these compositions performed live by the duo during their concert on March 18 at 7 p.m. in Club PROZA in Wrocław, preceded by a solo half recital by young and talented guitarist Nel Maślanka from Wrocław. Krzysztof Pełech - is an outstanding musician from Wrocław who has been dubbed the best Polish guitar player by “Gitara i Bas” magazine three times. He is the Artistic Director of the International Competition and Festival Guitar Masters and Summer Guitar Course/Guitar Masters Camp in Krzyżowa. He performs around 60 concerts annually and has so far recorded 16 albums. In his career he has collaborated with leading Polish orchestras, as well as the Festival Orchestra Berlin; he is frequently invited to work with outstanding composers and guitarists including Jorge Morel, Jorge Cardoso, Joscho Stephan and Tommy Emmanuel. Pełech has given concerts in nearly all European countries, the USA, Brazil, South Africa, as well as Egypt, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Argentina and Chile.
Robert Horna is a laureate of numerous Polish and international guitar competitions. He has so far performed in Poland, Switzerland, Romania, Moldova, Germany, Belgium, Holland and South America. He has been invited to give recitals at many prestigious music festivals in Poland and abroad where he regularly gives master classes, too. Robert Horna is a versatile artist - he performs with chamber bands, solo and with orchestras. He is the author of three solo albums released by CD Accord Music Edition.
Nel Maślanka – a young guitarist from Wrocław, a student of Agata Furmanowska at the Grażyna Bacewicz Primary Music School. Nel is a laureate of, among others: International Classical Guitar Youth Competition in Bratislava (1st prize and Grand Prix), International Competition ”Alirio Diaz Per Giovani Chitarristi” in Rome (1st prize), International Guitar Competition in Omiš in Croatia (1st prize), ”Alirio Diaz Jugendwettbewerb” in Rust (1st prize), Polish-German Spring Guitar Competition in Szczecin (1st prize), International Guitar Music Competition in Ełk (1st prize), International Guitar Music Festival and Competition in Trzęsacz (1st prize), all-Poland festivals in Strzelce Krajeńskie and Kępno (1st prize and Grand Prix). She is a laureate of scholarship of the Mayor of Wrocław, Head of the Kobierzyce Commune and the Polish Children Fund.
