Guitar Masters was born based on 18 years of existence of Wrocław Guitar Festival (Gitara+), which in 2016 was given a new form of an international competition stricly connected with a music festival and titled Guitar Masters/ International Competition & Festival. The Artistic Director is Krzysztof Pełech. GM2016’s goal is to promote the best guitarists and amplify the role of the city of Wrocław as an important centre of the guitar culture. The project is a part of the program of the European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016.
